Microsoft 365 is not just email

Many New Jersey SMBs think M365 means Outlook. It's actually a complete productivity suite: Exchange (email), OneDrive (file sync), SharePoint (collaboration), Teams (meetings and chat), and Copilot (AI-assisted productivity). M365 governance and security configuration

Default M365 is not secure. We implement industry-standard governance: data loss prevention (DLP) policies to prevent accidental exfiltration, conditional access to lock down login attempts from risky locations, multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all users, and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to prevent spoofing attacks.

We also configure Teams channels for your vertical. Healthcare firms get HIPAA-compliant Teams governance. Law firms get privileged channel access controls. Retailers get inventory and POS integration with Teams workflows. Generic M365 doesn't work — you need tuning for your business.

Identity and access — the new security perimeter

If an attacker steals a credential, they own your M365 account. We govern identity via Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). Conditional access policies block logins from unusual locations, old devices, or countries you don't operate in. MFA (multi-factor authentication) with passwordless sign-in via Windows Hello for Business or authenticator apps. Privileged Access Management (PAM) for admin accounts so even admin credentials are protected.

Depends on your current licensing. If you have old on-premises Exchange licenses, they won't port to M365 — you'll need to buy cloud licenses. OneDrive is encrypted in transit and at rest. But it's only as secure as your access controls. If an attacker steals your credential and you don't have MFA, they can access OneDrive. We add conditional access and MFA on top, plus DLP policies to prevent accidentally sharing files with external recipients. With our governance layer, OneDrive is secure.
Teams is integrated with M365 (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Copilot). Slack is a best-of-breed messaging platform but requires integration for everything else. For M365 customers, Teams is usually the better choice because it's native to the stack. We help your team adopt Teams effectively so it doesn't feel like a forced tool.
Copilot is powerful but risky if you don't have guardrails. Patient notes or client documents can be ingested into the AI model. We offer AI Guardrails service to control what data Copilot can access and audit its usage. For regulated verticals, this is essential.
